Energy dissipater I built at the foot of an inlet pipe to our neighborhood stormwater pond. Note how the height of the drop from the pipe to soil causes erosion without the quarry spalls. Bellingham, WA
At a commercial development I found this very compact two celled stormwater pond constructed with vertical concrete walls. We look to this system and wonder if there are ways to introduce plants to provide additional clarification to the water.
Here is a wonderful small two celled system that serves about 6 homes in Ferndale, WA. The upper cell infiltrates and if the flow is too great, spills over into the detention pond before it eventually goes into the city's stormwater system.
This community has combined their public and park with the land used for the stormwater system. Note the ability to see the pond but restrict access with this nice looking 5 foot cyclone fence. Pathway connects the park to the neighborhood.
